system. you can see as it gets closer to us as it crosses into southern virginia it looks like it's going to be midnight on thursday. it still only has winds of 40 miles per hour. that's strong but not as powerful as many other tropical storms, and no isabell. i want to emphasize that too. it will have a lot of rain with it. how much rain are we talking about? please understand this is preliminary. it's going to be bad along the carolinas. wilmington had over 10 yesterday. that was bad. but the models show the heaviest rain may be coming over dc talking 3 to 6 inches of rain on thursday. some of them can rotate and produce thunderstorms. we can get that with tropical remnants so we have to watch for that. tonight it's quiet, about 61 degrees, and tomorrow we're talking about a day getting up to 74 with perhaps the evening showers so it's really thursday when we're going to have all the activity and something else coming up on the news edge at 11:00 is our future cast model to give an idea of the timing and when the heaviest rain is going to be and where it will track. but thursday definit

're starting off tonight with that terrifying attack at a virginia strip mall. i'm brian bolter. >> and i'm shawn yancy. two teenagers are accused. one of them is still on the run. it happened this morning in manassas at the canterbury shopping village. fox 5's wisdom martin is just back from that neighborhood. >> this is a case of a man hired to do his job. when the suspects tried to rob him, he fought back and ended up in the hospital. manassas police say a man was hired by an out of town lean holder to do an annual assessment of the canterbury shopping center. sometime around 9:00 in the morning the worker was alone taking pictures of the property when he was approached by two suspects. they demanded the worker's money and camera. when he refused, the suspects started kicking and stabbing him. it was stunning news to many of the people who just found out about the stabbing. >> my child is in the academy. yeah. i think i'm really concerned. >> a little mixed reaction. i'm a little bit not surprised because it's not the best neighborhood, but at the same time it's really shocking because

friend is accused of hiding the gun at a nearby playground after the shooting. >>> a virginia community is mourning tonight after the sudden death of a star high school football player. austin trenum was found unresponsive at his home this morning. went to district high school in nokesville. a cause of death was not confirmed but they tell fox 5 the death does not appear to be accidental. >> he of the one person that everybody was friends -- he was the one person that everybody was friends. with he was funny and could pretty much make everybody laugh and feel better in an instant. it's hard. everybody is taking it hard. >> austin's family released a statement saying in part austin was a wonderful son, brother and grandson. he was deeply loved by his family and highly respected by his teammates, friends and classmates. funeral arrangements are being made. >>> president obama said it flat out, d.c. schools are not good enough for his daughters. that's right after his secretary of education complimented schools chancellor michelle rhee on the job she's done. fox 5's roby chavez has more.
